Friedler wants you to know that you don’t have to feel like this anymore. Call our office in Madison or New Haven, Connecticut for more information about Sedation Dentistry.
The Miracle Of Sedation Dentistry.
Dr. Alan Friedler offers his patients the option of sedation dentistry, also known as oral conscious sedation. With sedation dentistry, you will be prescribed a mild oral medication to help you relax and feel comfortable in Dr. Friedler’s care. You will still be able to respond when we speak to you but feel so sleepy that you will forget your experience. Sedation dentistry allows Dr. Friedler to perform the dentistry you need, often in one visit. Whether you require a simple filling or a complex full mouth reconstruction, sedation dentistry can help you through your appointment.

How Does It Work?
You will take the prescribed pill about one hour before your dental visit. When you arrive at Dr. Friedler’s office, you will still be awake but feeling very drowsy. It is very important that you have someone drive you to and from your dental appointment for this reason.
Sedation dentistry is not a pain reliever but a relaxant. Dr. Friedler will still use local anesthetics to relieve pain, but because you will be in a state of deep relaxation, you likely won’t feel or remember a thing.
When Dr. Friedler is finished working on your smile, your friend or family member will drive you home, where you can continue snoozing. After you have fully awakened, you should be free from the stress you normally have after a dental appointment.
Why Sedation Dentistry?
With sedation dentistry, Dr. Friedler can finish more dental treatments in one visit on a patient who is comfortable and at-ease. Sedation dentistry has several advantages: It is easy to administer by pill, safe and easy to monitor, works well for most patients and is an affordable way to temporarily relieve dental fear, anxiety and phobia. It can also help patients who have problems with getting numb.
